Exchange: Worchester-Stuttgart 2025
Friday, 30th May,2025
The beginning of a great exchange with our partner school in Worcester, UK. All of us German students met at the airport in Stuttgart to check in together. We said goodbye to our parents. The check-in went really well so we had a lot of time left. Of course, we did a group photo. Then we had to wait till boarding, about 40 minutes.
The flight was well, and we saw the beautiful sunset and London from above.
After the landing we took the London Heathrow express and drove to Paddington and there we had the chance to buy a late dinner. The walk to the hostel was only about 10 minutes through the city center. After we arrived, we directly went into our rooms because it was late. Various of us shared rooms. It was late by the time we shut the light and went to sleep.

On Saturday, we got up, had breakfast, and then went out to explore London. We saw lots of sights— not just the famous ones, but especially Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, and the observation tower. After we’d seen everything, we had some free time to wander around on our own. We could pop into shops and just explore freely. In the evening, we all ate together at a street food market, then we went to bed early so we’d be ready to meet our exchange partners the next day.

On Sunday, we had a wonderful day. The weather in London was sunny and warm, perfect for exploring the city.
On Sunday morning, we got up and had breakfast together at 9:00am. By 10:00am, we had packed our suitcases, made our beds, and vacated our rooms. Fortunately, we could leave our suitcases in a storage room at the hostel, so we didn’t have to carry them around all day.
We all met outside the hostel and our teachers took us on a walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Garden. At Kensington Garden, we saw the Kensington Palace, which was impressive with its rich and royal
history. Then we went to the Lady Diana Memorial Statue in the Sunken Garden. It’s a statue of Princess Diana with three kids, and it felt really special to see it in such a peaceful place.
After that, we took the underground to Notting Hill, to look around and shop a bit. Notting Hill was awesome, with all those colorful houses and little stores. We walked through the streets and checked out some souvenirs.
Then we went back to the hostel by the underground to collect our suitcases. From there, we walked to Paddington Station, a large and busy train station. We took a train to Worcestershire Parkway, and the ride was nice and calm. We got to Worcestershire Parkway at 5:51pm, and our English exchange students were there to pick us up. It was cool to finally meet them after messaging for so long! London´s sunshine had turned into a light drizzle, but it didn’t matter.
All in all, it was such a great day. London was so much fun to explore, at the end, waited a warm welcome in Worcester.

On Monday, we started the day at school with our regular lessons. In the first period, everyone had registration, with a focus on religious education. After that, the German students, without the exchange partners, went on a trip to the city of Worcester. First, we walked through the city and visited the beautiful cathedral. Then we had about an hour of free time to explore the city on our own. Later, we visited the Town Hall, where we had a guided tour. The mayor welcomed us and told us about the history of Worcester. One highlight of the tour was going down to the old prison cells beneath the building. After the visit, we returned to school. From there, we went home with our exchange partners.

We met at the school and then went to registration. Afterwards, all the exchange students took a bus to Warwick Castle. On the way there, it rained heavily. At Warwick Castle, we were given a guided tour and learned a lot about its history. Afterwards, we watched a horse show and a bird show, where large birds flew right over our heads.
Later, we drove to Stratford and visited Shakespeare’s birthplace. Moreover, we had some free time to eat and explore the city. It was a lovely day!

On Thursday, during our student exchange to England, we first arrived for class with our exchange partners at 8:45 am. During a break at 12:35 pm, we were picked up by a coach and taken to a bowling alley. Bowling was a lot of fun, but after a while, many of us started having fun on the slot machines there. Some of us competed in basketball. After we were finished bowling, almost everyone met up privately for a game of mini golf. It was a very nice and exciting day, and a lot of fun.

A Day in Oxford: All exchange students and exchange partners met at the school. From there, we took a two-hour bus ride to Oxford. Unfortunately, it rained during the trip, but by the time we arrived, it had slowly stopped.
Oxford Museum: After arriving, we walked straight to the Oxford Museum. It’s all about visual history and the lives of people back then. The first room is called „Gallery One.“ There are various stations where you can listen to stories and facts. If you continue into the museum, you’ll come to a small room where the library of objects is displayed. The third room is called „Gallery Two.“ In this room, you can try on various items of clothing from the past. At the end of the museum, you can go to a shop and buy a few souvenirs.
College: From the museum, we walked to the college and looked at the university from the outside. The buildings were very old, but beautifully constructed. We were lucky because we were allowed to see a few rooms from the inside. For example, the prayer room, where students can pray. We also visited the dining hall.
Free time: In the early afternoon, we were allowed to buy lunch at a market hall. The class split up and formed small groups. There were many different restaurants where you could buy food from all over the world. After lunch, our group decided to go shopping. We bought souvenirs for our friends and family. Many bought hoodies with an Oxford logo as a souvenir.
Departure: At 4:00 pm, we made our way back to the bus for another two hours to Worcester. The ride was fun as we all listened to music and some even sang along. We also managed to sneak in a few snacks.
